As many of you know, the Friends of the Center for Families (FCFF) is a group of parents and providers who over the years have really benefited from the the wonderful programs that the Center for Families offers, as I am sure many of have as well. As a mom of a 15-month-old, I have made friendships with many families I have connected with through Christine's infant group. As a former staff member, I know personally how hard they work to provide high quality programs.
A few months into working there, however, in 2008, the economy took a nosedive and the Center lost a good deal of funding. Programs sadly had to be cut. That is why FCFF formed. To be able to support the amazing work that the Center does. In our 3 short years in existence we have been able to help fund Zumba, a computer teacher for a family literacy program, and a field trip that had not happened since my first year working there. These are just a few examples of what we have been able to do. Right now there are 5 of us who are volunteering our time regularly to be able to keep FCFF going; most of us have been involved since the very beginning. Like you, we are all busy parents. We want to grow as an organization, and we really need your help to do so. There are many different ways you can help with as little as an hour of your time!
If you have any questions or are interested in volunteering, please feel free to e-mail me at friendsofthecenterforfamilies(at)gmail.com. And please save the date for our spring fundraiser, the Second Annual The Bids & The Bees, Friday, May 15! All the best, Bev Feldman President, Friends of the Center for Families
